My name is Kitty Chung. I am a nuclear technologist who works in the Radiation Protection department of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant near Toledo, Ohio. My husband, Allen, is a patent & trademark attorney and a partner in the firm of MacMillan, Sobanski & Todd in Toledo, Ohio.
ABOUT OUR WEBSITE:
These are photographs we took during our September 1999 trip through China. We were on a Pacific Delight package tour with 16 other delightful people. This is the story of our trip. The photos were taken with a Sony MCV-FD88 digital camera.
We are working on getting all our pictures uploaded (somewhere) but it is taking a fair amount of time...we have been working on this for weeks. However, we have found some tools which are helping a lot:
The first is an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program which allows us to select a large number (or just a few) files for uploading, and then with a simple drag and drop procedure, start sending them to our website. Then we can go off to other things while the program uploads all the designated files.
The program we are using is a program called CuteFTP 3.0 This program makes it very easy to upload and download long lists of files.
The second is a HTML Editor called CuteHTML 1.2 This program makes it a lot easier to edit HTML than the HTML editor
provided by Fortunecity, though you still have to know something about HTML. We have never taken a class, but by poking around here and there, we have learned some basic stuff - mostly which sections of code to copy from somewhere else to get the page to do what we want it to do. The Help section of CuteHTML does have a huge listing of HTML functions and the coding for these functions!
CuteHTML provides a number of tools that make our job quicker and easier. What I especially like is editing our web page on my computer, looking at it using my browser, and if everything looks ok, sending it up to overwrite the previous edition of the web page with a simple drag and drop using CuteFTP. It takes about 10 seconds to upload this page from my computer. Also, that way I have diverse redundant backup copies of my files...diverse and redundant backup...sounds like nuclear power!
